SOLE LUNA - Sculpture in Murano glass
……Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood. For nothing now can ever come to any good.….. Poem by W. H. Auden from the film “4 Weddings and a Funeral”
There are so many poems about the sun and the moon. There are two great lights in the firmament of heaven: the largest for the day and the smallest for the night, where you can discover their true faces and admire them in all their beauty. They represent the union of two opposing forces: the sun, the male part, the spirit and the moon, the female part, the mind.
Born as a unique sculpture, it has been renovated and developed into an impressive disc on a metal support. Exposed under the rays of the sun or under the reflections of the light, the glass disc glitters.
The sculpture is made with the mosaic melting technique of opaque and transparent Murano glass, with gold and silver leaves. Multicolored glass squares or rectangles are meticulously cut and joined together. Cutting and laying of tiles are strictly handmade, added value of the product.
The SOLE LUNA sculpture is proposed in various color combinations: Venetian red, green, blue and multicolored.
